The role of citizen budgeting in the effective marketing of the Sudanese government: opportunities and challenges

This research addresses a very important future topic about enhancing citizen awareness in financial management, especially in the context of enhancing the effectiveness of the Sudanese government by using financial performance as a means to achieve transparency and accountability. The research aims to explore how to integrate the ordinary citizen into understanding the details of the citizen budget, with a focus on the need for him to be familiar with all aspects of the budget, including details of revenues and the size of expenditures, which is known as the citizen’s budget.
The research will address, within its theoretical framework, the concept of the citizen budget as a tool to improve transparency, as this tool is considered essential to enhance trust between the government and society. Methods of communicating financial information will be presented in easy and simplified ways, which helps the citizen understand how public financial resources are allocated. The research will also address the importance of transparency in disseminating information, and how it can contribute to improving financial accountability by government agencies. In addition, the government’s effective role in providing basic financial information will be addressed, through various communication channels, such as the media, websites, and community workshops. This will enable citizens to view the details of the budget, and understand how financial policies affect their daily lives, which enhances their ability to participate in the democratic process.
By improving communication and simplifying financial information, the government can enhance citizen engagement in decision-making, which contributes to positive economic and social outcomes. Challenges that the government may face in communicating this information, such as complex technical language and lack of public awareness, will also be discussed, in addition to proposed strategies to overcome these obstacles and promote a culture of budgeting in society. In conclusion, enhancing citizen awareness in financial management is a vital step towards building an effective government capable of achieving sustainable development. By applying the concepts of citizen budgeting, the Sudanese government can build bridges of trust with its citizens, and work to achieve the economic and social development that everyone seeks
